Chamber Passed·5/28/26
Introduced Text

New Jersey S693 prohibits municipalities from requiring plan approval for adding up to five van accessible parking spaces to existing parking.

New Jersey S693 amends existing law to prohibit municipalities from requiring approval of a minor site plan or site plan, or any other approval required by the “State Uniform Construction Code Act,” solely for adding up to five van accessible parking spaces to existing parking lots or structures in commercial zones. This change aligns with federal law and the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design. The act takes effect immediately.
