Exempts birthing facilities from certain health care practitioner referral restrictions.

New Jersey S674 exempts birthing facilities from certain health care practitioner referral restrictions. Under current law, a health care practitioner generally cannot refer a patient to a health care service in which the practitioner has a significant beneficial interest. This bill adds an exception, allowing practitioners to refer patients to birthing facilities where they have a significant beneficial interest. The practitioner must disclose this interest to the patient in writing before making the referral.
