New Jersey S633 amends the "Senator Byron M. Baer Open Public Meetings Act" to permit public bodies to conduct meetings, perform public business, vote, and receive public comment through electronic means. The bill removes the restriction that such activities are only allowed during a state of emergency, public health emergency, or state of local disaster emergency. Meetings conducted electronically must remain open to the public. The Department of Community Affairs and the State Board of Education may adopt rules to implement this change.
