Increases fines for failing to report suspected abuse or exploitation of institutionalized elderly person.

This bill increases the fine for a person required to report suspected abuse or exploitation of an institutionalized elderly person, who fails to make a report, from not more than $500 to not more than $1,500. The fine for the facility employing the individual increases from not more than $2,500 to not more than $5,000. The bill also provides immunity from civil or criminal liability for individuals reporting suspected abuse or exploitation, unless they act in bad faith or with malicious purpose.
