This bill exempts certain essential services and businesses from temporary closure or self-isolation requirements during a state of emergency or public health emergency in New Jersey. Specifically, it includes electrical contracting, HVACR work, and plumbing services. Additionally, retail businesses selling building materials and hardware for construction or repair are also exempt. The Director of the Division of Consumer Affairs can further designate other professions or occupations as essential and exempt them from similar requirements. The act takes effect immediately upon enactment.
