Expands permission for municipalities to offer incentives for employee retirement or termination of employment.
This bill amends existing law to allow municipalities to adopt incentive programs encouraging employee retirement or termination of employment, regardless of whether they are entering into interlocal or joint services contracts. Previously, only counties could adopt such programs. The incentive programs must be submitted to the Director of the Division of Local Government Services for approval, who may require modifications. Once approved, the municipalities can implement the programs and offer incentives to their employees.
