New Jersey S4759 requires pharmacies to provide a 30-day emergency supply of insulin to eligible residents.
New Jersey S4759 mandates that pharmacies provide a one-time, emergency 30-day supply of insulin to residents in urgent need. To qualify, individuals must be New Jersey residents, not enrolled in NJ FamilyCare or similar programs, and have less than a seven-day supply of insulin. The Department of Banking and Insurance, in collaboration with the New Jersey State Board of Pharmacy, will establish an application process. If a manufacturer fails to reimburse the pharmacy for the dispensed insulin, the department may assess a civil penalty of up to $100,000 per month of noncompliance.
