The Barnegat Bay Protection Act establishes the Barnegat Bay Protection Fund to support the protection, preservation, and remediation of the Barnegat Bay estuary watershed. The fund will be supported by a portion of sales tax on fertilizer, fees from special Protect Barnegat Bay license plates, and donations. Donations can be made at the time of boat registration or renewal, through the sale of special license plates, and at the point of purchase of a beach registration fee.
