New Jersey S4518 repeals the codification of the Attorney General directive "Strengthening Trust Between Law Enforcement and Immigrant Communities." This law prohibited racially-influenced policing and limited assistance to federal immigration authorities. It also required law enforcement agencies to notify detained individuals of certain requests made by federal immigration authorities and to establish procedures for processing visa certifications. The repeal is effective immediately.
