The bill makes various changes to State Health Benefits Plan (SHBP) governance and administration. It revises the structure of the State Health Benefits Commission (SHBC) to include 13 members. The bill eliminates the SHBP Plan Design Committee and transfers its powers and functions to the SHBC. The SHBC will be responsible for, and have authority over, the various health care benefits plans and components of those plans, including medical benefits, prescription drug benefits, dental, vision, and any other health benefits, offered and administered by the SHBP.
