S.4513

Concerns temporary use of funding for open space, recreation, floodplain protection, farmland and historic preservation for certain municipalities.

Final Passage·6/30/26
Introduced Text

Allows certain municipalities to temporarily use funds for open space, recreation, floodplain protection, farmland and historic preservation.

This bill amends existing law to allow municipalities to temporarily use funds from their "Municipal Open Space, Recreation, Floodplain Protection, and Farmland and Historic Preservation Trust Fund" for fiscal year 2027 and any unexpended funds deposited prior to 2027. The bill permits municipalities to deposit these funds into their current fund if they have established an arts and culture trust fund. The bill also allows the governing body to submit propositions to voters to change the amount or rate of the annual levy or to add or remove purposes for which the levy may be expended.
