New Jersey S4359 establishes protections for tenants against water and wastewater utility shutoffs.

New Jersey S4359 establishes protections for tenants who are end users of water or wastewater service but are not the customer of record with the water utility. The bill requires water utilities to notify tenants 30 days prior to discontinuing service. It prohibits water utilities from discontinuing service to tenants who are not the customer of record or to tenants in multi-unit dwellings served by a single service connection.
