Introduced Text

Establishes a three-business day delay for disclosing sensitive, life-changing test results to patients.

The "Sensitive Life-Changing Test Results Protection Act" establishes a three-business day delay for disclosing sensitive, life-changing test results to patients. These results include those from clinical laboratory tests, imaging scans, or other medical tests indicating serious mental or physical illness that may lead to permanent impairment, loss of function, or death. The delay allows health care providers to review the results and contact patients before they are released to the patient's electronic health record or patient portal.
