Revises certain requirements for prescription of Schedule II controlled dangerous substances via telemedicine and telehealth without in-person examination or review.

Introduced·5/11/26

Permits prescription of Schedule II controlled dangerous substances via telemedicine and telehealth without in-person examination or review.

The bill revises requirements for prescribing Schedule II controlled dangerous substances via telemedicine and telehealth in New Jersey. It allows health care providers to prescribe these substances remotely using interactive, real-time, two-way audio and video technologies, provided they have established a proper provider-patient relationship and obtained written consent from the patient or their guardian. The bill also mandates that health care providers maintain the same standard of care for telemedicine and telehealth services as for in-person settings.
