New Jersey S4166 requires residential customers to provide express consent for any material changes to their third-party energy supply contracts. This consent must be verbal, electronic, or written and must be maintained by the supplier in a verifiable format. A "material change" includes alterations to the terms, duration, price, or pricing structure of the contract. The Board of Public Utilities will implement this requirement through necessary rules and regulations. This act applies only to contracts entered into or renewed after its effective date.
