Allows students to use tuition aid grants and opportunity grants during summer sessions.
This bill allows students to use a portion of their tuition aid grants or opportunity grants during summer sessions for courses that fulfill graduation requirements or award credits in their academic major. Students must notify the Higher Education Student Assistance Authority or the Office of the Secretary of Higher Education of their intent to use the grant during the summer. The amount of the grant disbursed during the academic year will be adjusted accordingly. The bill also requires annual reporting on the number of students using these grants during the summer and their graduation rates.
