New Jersey S4109 prohibits the sale of sensitive personal data by controllers of commercial Internet websites or online services.

New Jersey S4109 amends existing law to prohibit the sale of sensitive personal data by controllers of commercial Internet websites or online services. This prohibition applies to all individuals or legal entities, regardless of the number of consumers whose data they control or process. The bill defines sensitive data to include personal information revealing racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, mental or physical health conditions, financial information, sex life or sexual orientation, citizenship or immigration status, and other specified categories.
