Requires SNAP retailers to take measures to help prevent card skimming. Beginning on January 31, 2027, authorized New Jersey SNAP retailers that accept SNAP electronic benefits transfer cards must equip each point of sale terminal with features or technology to help prevent card skimming. The Department of Human Services is authorized to inspect retailers to ensure compliance. The Commissioner of Human Services can assess penalties for violations and exclude retailers from the SNAP program for four or more violations.
