New Jersey S4107 amends existing law to prohibit sellers from imposing a surcharge on customers using debit cards for services. A violation of these provisions is considered an unlawful practice, subject to penalties including monetary fines, cease and desist orders, punitive damages, treble damages, and costs awarded to the injured party. The act takes effect immediately.
