New Jersey S4100 prohibits counties from charging recording fees to volunteer first responders.

New Jersey S4100 prohibits county clerks and registers of deeds and mortgages from charging recording fees to volunteer first responders who have engaged in volunteer response services in the previous 12 months. The bill requires these individuals to certify their volunteer status in a form and manner determined by the Director of the Division of Local Government Services in the Department of Community Affairs. The act is set to take effect on the first day of the third month following its enactment.
