S.4057

Exempts rugs and fabrics used in vehicles from provisions of "Protecting Against Forever Chemicals Act."

Chamber Passed·6/30/26
Introduced Text

Exempts vehicle rugs and fabrics from "Protecting Against Forever Chemicals Act.

This bill amends the "Protecting Against Forever Chemicals Act" to exclude rugs and fabrics used in vehicles from its scope. Specifically, it clarifies that the term "carpet" does not include any rug or fabric intended solely for use inside aircraft, automobiles, light duty trucks, vans, buses, or any other vehicle. This exemption means such items are not subject to the provisions of the "Protecting Against Forever Chemicals Act.
