Introduced Text

Establishes the New Jersey Living Donor Support Program in the Department of Health to provide financial assistance to living donors.

This bill establishes the New Jersey Living Donor Support Program within the Department of Health to provide financial assistance to cover eligible expenses incurred by living donors during the donation process. Eligible expenses include lost wages, travel and lodging costs, child care and elder care expenses, and medication and care costs. The Commissioner of Health will determine which expenses are eligible for reimbursement. If a donor's expenses are covered by another third-party payer, the New Jersey Living Donor Support Program will act as the payer of last resort.
