New Jersey S4014 introduces a gross income tax credit for child care staff and registered family day care providers to address the state's child care staffing crisis. The credit amount varies based on the income of the staff member or provider and the age of the children they care for. For those earning less than $25,000, the credit is $1,000 for children 30 months or older and $1,500 for children from birth to 30 months. For incomes between $25,000 and $35,000, the credit is $750 and $1,000 respectively. For incomes between $35,001 and $45,000, the credit is $500 and $750.
