Introduced·3/19/26
Introduced Text

Removes capacity limit for ammunition magazines in New Jersey.

This bill removes the capacity restriction on ammunition magazines in New Jersey. It eliminates the definition of "large capacity ammunition magazine" and removes penalties for possessing or manufacturing such magazines. The bill also amends the definition of "assault firearm" to exclude semi-automatic shotguns and rifles based solely on magazine capacity. Additionally, it repeals sections of existing law related to the current 10-round limit and registration requirements for high-capacity magazines. The changes take effect immediately upon enactment.
