Introduced Text

New Jersey S3959 mandates DOBI to review hormone replacement therapy coverage by carriers.

New Jersey S3959 requires the Department of Banking and Insurance (DOBI) to conduct a confidential review of hormone replacement therapy coverage provided by health insurance carriers. The review will examine the administration of such coverage under the "New Jersey Menopause Coverage Act." DOBI will also analyze data on prior authorization and step therapy exception approvals and denials, as well as other relevant information from carriers. The review's conclusions must be submitted to the Legislature six months after the bill's effective date.
