S.3939

Permits dual-use solar energy projects to participate in community solar program.

Final Passage·6/30/26

New Jersey S3939 allows dual-use solar energy projects to participate in the community solar program.

New Jersey S3939 permits dual-use or agrivoltaics solar facilities to participate in the community solar program. These facilities, which generate electric power from solar panels on unpreserved farmland while allowing simultaneous agricultural or horticultural production, were previously limited to the Successor Solar Initiative (SuSI) program. This bill enables them to benefit from the community solar program’s incentives, expanding their eligibility.
