New Jersey S3766 requires the New Jersey Board of Nursing to establish a Nursing Scribe Program in collaboration with approved nursing schools. The program will authorize these schools to grant academic credit to nursing students who successfully complete a nurse scribe course. The course must provide training in electronic medical records documentation, medical terminology, HIPAA provisions, and medical billing principles. Students will also complete practicum hours providing nurse scribe services.
