New Jersey S3668 mandates notification when artificial intelligence systems are used in consumer communications.

New Jersey S3668 requires entities using artificial intelligence systems to communicate with consumers via online platforms to notify consumers of the AI's use and provide contact information for human assistance. This requirement must be fulfilled before any further communication begins. Violations of this provision are considered unlawful practices under the consumer fraud act, subject to penalties including monetary fines, cease and desist orders, punitive damages, treble damages, and costs.
