New Jersey S3658 permits emergency medical technicians (EMTs) to administer epinephrine using a needle and syringe that is not prefilled. The Commissioner of Health must establish written standards and application procedures for EMTs to meet in order to obtain certification for this method. Certification requires evidence of completing an approved educational program and passing an examination. The commissioner will maintain a registry of certified EMTs and compile an annual public list of those certified to administer epinephrine using a needle and syringe. This act takes effect immediately.
