S.3621

Reduces minimum number of annually required thoroughbred horse racing dates under certain circumstances.

Chamber Passed·6/30/26

Reduces minimum number of annually required thoroughbred horse racing dates under certain circumstances.

This bill reduces the minimum number of annually required thoroughbred horse racing dates at Monmouth Park and Meadowlands Racetrack under specific conditions. It allows for a decrease to 50 dates with written consent from the New Jersey Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association. Additionally, it permits a reduction to 25 dates if the State does not appropriate any funds for the horse racing purse subsidies, or if the appropriation is less than $10 million but more than $5 million. The bill amends existing law to reflect these changes.
