New Jersey S361 establishes an affirmative defense for victims of human trafficking charged with any offense listed in Title 2C of the New Jersey Statutes. This defense applies if the defendant was a victim of human trafficking at the time of the alleged crime and the crime was a direct result of the human trafficking offense. The bill also includes provisions for grading offenses, penalties, and restitution for victims. It does not preclude prosecution for other offenses, including human trafficking itself.
