Introduced Text

New Jersey S3606 mandates telemarketers to display their name and telephone number on caller ID services during sales calls.

New Jersey S3606 amends existing law to require telemarketers to display their name and telephone number on caller identification services when making sales calls. The bill also mandates that telemarketers accurately identify themselves, the person on whose behalf the call is being made, and the call's purpose within the first 30 seconds. It prohibits telemarketers from blocking caller ID services or using methods that misrepresent their identity. Additionally, the bill restricts unsolicited telemarketing calls to between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
