Introduced Text

New Jersey S3577 requires a second enrollment count for determining State school aid.

New Jersey S3577 revises the requirements for enrollment counts used to determine State aid to school districts. The bill mandates that school districts conduct a second enrollment count on the school day prior to February 2 of each year, in addition to the existing count prior to October 16. The resident enrollment for determining State aid would be the average of both counts. The bill also specifies that certain students, such as those in shared-time vocational programs, must be counted on an equated full-time basis.
