Introduced·2/19/26
Introduced Text

Extends cancellation period for home improvement contracts to five business days for consumers aged 65 and over.

This bill allows consumers aged 65 and older to cancel home improvement contracts within five business days, up from the current three days. The extended period aims to accommodate the needs of senior citizens who may need more time to review contracts. Consumers must notify the contractor of their cancellation in writing or by personal delivery. The contractor must refund all payments within 30 days of receiving the cancellation notice. The bill amends existing law to include these changes.
