This bill creates a three-year Gun Court Pilot Program in the Superior Court in Mercer County to handle crimes involving guns and dangerous weapons. The Administrative Office of the Courts will administer the program, and any criminal case involving such weapons can be referred to the Gun Court. Judges assigned to the Gun Court must have extensive knowledge of criminal law, procedure, and sentencing, particularly in violent crime cases.
