New Jersey S3496 permits retired non-instructional staff members from the Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERS) to return to school district employment for up to two years without reenrollment if hired during the remainder of the 2025-2026 and the entirety of the 2026-2027 school years. This bill applies to non-instructional staff members, defined as New Jersey school-based employees not requiring New Jersey Department of Education certification.
