New Jersey S3450 mandates demographic data collection and cultural competency training in clinical laboratories and hospitals.

New Jersey S3450 requires clinical laboratories to electronically record patients' race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and gender identity when presenting with a non-electronic order for testing. Laboratories must also implement an evidence-based cultural competency training program for staff responsible for collecting this data. Hospitals collecting such data must also implement cultural competency training.
