This bill amends the definition of stalking to elevate it from a fourth-degree to a third-degree crime when the victim is less than 18 years old. A third-degree crime carries a potential prison sentence of three to five years, a fine of up to $15,000, or both. The bill excludes conduct occurring during organized group picketing from its scope. The change takes effect immediately.
