Introduced Text

New Jersey S3276 prohibits contracts for student-athletes' names, images, or likenesses from extending past their eligibility for intercollegiate.

New Jersey S3276 amends existing law to ensure that contracts for student-athletes' names, images, or likenesses cannot remain in effect after the student-athlete is no longer eligible to participate in intercollegiate athletics. Additionally, these contracts cannot require the student-athlete to provide compensation or rights associated with their name, image, or likeness after their athletic eligibility ends. Any contract provision that violates these stipulations will be void. This act takes effect immediately upon enactment.
