New Jersey S3273 amends the state's tax code to increase the gross income tax deduction for veterans from $6,000 to $12,000. This change applies to veterans who were honorably discharged or released under honorable circumstances from active duty in the Armed Forces of the United States, a reserve component, or the National Guard of New Jersey in a federal active duty status. The increased deduction takes effect for taxable years beginning on or after January 1 next following the date of enactment.
