New Jersey S327 allows the MVC to contract with a private vendor for marketing and selling personalized, courtesy, or special license plates.

New Jersey S327 authorizes the Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) to enter into a contract with a private vendor for the marketing and sale of personalized, courtesy, or special license plates. The contract must be for a minimum of five years and can be renewed for up to two additional five-year terms. The MVC can establish fees and license plate year terms for these plates, ensuring they are reasonable and cover all costs associated with the contract. Any excess fees collected are to be credited to the General Fund.
