Exemption from DEP permit fees for municipalities repairing flood damage after natural disasters.

New Jersey S3259 provides an exemption from Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) permit fees for municipalities repairing damage from natural disasters involving flooding. To qualify, municipalities must demonstrate the necessity of the permit for disaster repairs. The DEP will inform municipalities about the exemption by publishing notices, posting on its website, and distributing information to the Department of Community Affairs and other municipalities. This act takes effect immediately.
