Extends the term for retired Public Employees’ Retirement System members to return to employment with the Legislature.

This bill amends P.L.2021, c.498 to permanently extend the provisions allowing retired members of the Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERS) to return to employment with the Legislature. The bill removes the previous four-year limit on the return to employment, allowing it to continue indefinitely. It also broadens eligibility to include retired members granted a retirement allowance prior to or on January 18, 2021, or during calendar years 2022, 2023, or 2024.
