New Jersey S3158 mandates that the State provide recipients of tax refunds, unemployment insurance benefits, and State employee compensation with the option to receive their payments in the form of a paper check. The Division of Unemployment and Temporary Disability Insurance must inform claimants of their payment options, including prepaid debit cards, direct deposit, and paper checks, and require a signature to designate the preferred method. The Director of the Division of Taxation must offer taxpayers the option to receive their refunds as paper checks.
