New Jersey S3154 establishes venue for juveniles charged with specific delinquent acts.
New Jersey S3154 amends existing law to establish venue for juveniles charged with certain acts of delinquency. Specifically, if a juvenile is charged with acts such as theft of a motor vehicle, unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, carjacking, or burglary with intent to steal a motor vehicle, and has a prior adjudication for such offenses, the presumption is that the trial will be held in the county where the complaint was filed. This law does not affect jurisdiction over offenses committed after the juvenile turns 18.
