New Jersey S3138 permits emergency medical technicians (EMTs) to administer epinephrine using a needle and syringe that is not prefilled. EMTs must complete an approved educational program and pass an examination to obtain certification. The Commissioner of Health will establish standards and procedures for certification, maintain a registry of certified EMTs, and compile an annual list of those certified, which will be available to the public. This act takes effect immediately.
