This bill expands eligibility for expungement in New Jersey by allowing more individuals to petition the Superior Court for expungement relief. It eliminates the cap on the number of convictions a person may expunge and removes the limitation on the number of times a person may be granted expungement. The bill also allows for expungement of convictions for crimes, disorderly persons offenses, and petty disorderly persons offenses, including those involving marijuana and hashish in certain quantities.
