New Jersey S304 increases the number of children a registered family day care provider can care for from five to 10. The bill requires family day care homes caring for more than five children to meet health and safety code requirements. It also mandates that the Commissioner of Human Services use federal block grant funds to provide additional family day care provider training. The Commissioner of Human Services and the Commissioner of Community Affairs are required to promulgate regulations to implement the act.
