Exempts certain veterans from field or live-fire range portion of hunter gun safety course.

New Jersey S2982 exempts certain veterans from completing the field or live-fire range portion of the required gun safety course. This bill allows the Division of Fish and Wildlife to require proof of service and honorable discharge before authorizing the exemption. The definition of "veteran" includes residents honorably discharged from active military service in the U.S. Armed Forces or reserves, or honorably discharged members of the American Merchant Marine who served during World War II and are eligible for federal veterans' benefits.
