New Jersey S2978 amends the "Family Leave Act" and "Temporary Disability Benefits Law" to allow employees to take bereavement leave for the death, miscarriage, stillbirth, or termination of a pregnancy for medical reasons of a child, or for failed fertility treatments. Eligible employees can take up to 21 days of leave if they are not already eligible for other leave or benefits. If they are eligible for other leave or benefits, they can take up to seven days. The leave can be paid, unpaid, or a combination of both.
